Award winner in the 'A Stage for Democracy' writing competition, 1998
Synopsis
Between verbal blows and blows thrown by paws, two dogs chew on a caustic vision of society, differences and injustices. There is no mistake: once again the author uses his pen to bring human beings closer together.

| Him | If I understand correctly, you are a tramp. |
| Her | We say 'independent'. Gino and myself are 'independent'. And you, what does it mean to be a 'companion'? |
| Him | Me, I have nothing to do. |
| Her | Nothing to do? |
| Him | I only have to accompany Madame Germaine. She is sixty nine and no longer dares to go out alone. So, I take her for walks. Every afternoon. For security I keep her on the end of a lead. |
| Her | And that's it? |
| Him | Apart from that I lie down in the living-room, in a basket with a mattress and a blanket. |
| Her | And she pays you for that? |
| Him | Four meals a day. |
| Her | That's a cushy number! |
| Him | And an extra meal on Sunday. |
| Her | What, you work on Sunday? |
| Him | It's my heaviest day. She goes out in the afternoon and then again after 4 o'clock. |
